Glass mat | What is glass mat?
Glass mat (chopped strand mat) is the most commonly used reinforcing material in the fabrication of polyester using the hand lay-up method. The short lengths of glass fibre are arranged criss-cross and overlapping, and are bonded together by a binder. Both powder-bonded and emulsion-bonded glass mats are available.
