Construction and renovation of a swimming pool
Why should you build your own pool with polyester?
The system we use at V-Sure is based on the many advantages of polyester for the construction of a pool. It is a strong resin that is suitable for the construction of your dream pool. A polyester pool is also very durable and offers many advantages.
These include:
The sturdy constructions that consist of concrete can be covered seamlessly and made watertight in any desired RAL colour
It is possible to work on nearly every substrate, such as concrete or screed
You are assured of perfect waterproofing by using a water- and chlorine-resistant pre- and topcoat as the final layer
Polyester is easy to maintain
The construction of a polyester pool hardly limits the design and dimensions
The sides are finished nice and smooth
Polyester has a long life
Moreover, it is a lot cheaper to dig up a pool and cover it with glass-fibre reinforced polyester yourself than to have a complete pool laid by a specialist.

Call to actionHow to (re)paint a pool
Call to actionAt V-Sure we have several systems for (re)painting your pool.
Pre- and topcoat
For the (re)painting of an existing polyester pool we advise to use a layer of Precoat T40BT and to finish it off with a cemented topcoat type LT40SB.
Follow the step-by-step plan below:
STEP 1: Sanding down the existing topcoat so that it is completely removed.
STEP 2: Remove all dust from the substrate and degrease with cleaner A = acetone.
STEP 3: Apply 1 layer of glass mat in combination with a laminating resin type H35.
STEP 4: Application of a layer of Precoat T40BT.
STEP 5: Applying a layer of Topcoat LT40SB.
We supply precoat T40BT already coloured light grey. This allows you to prepare the substrate well covered. Five basic swimming pool colours are available in the top coat LT40SB for finishing. Both the polyester resin and the pre- and topcoat must be provided with the same Mekp hardener. This should be ordered separately.
Perfect Pool Finish
For the (re)painting of your polyester pool we recommend using the Perfect Pool Finish.
This is a high-quality 2-component, highly opaque and slightly elastic varnish. Perfect Pool Finish is extremely durable and resistant to the sun, water, chemicals and diluted acids and alkalis. You do not need to apply a precoat for this. It is used as a finishing coat for swimming pools and ponds and can be applied with a brush or a spray gun. Perfect Pool Finish is available in various RAL colours.
Call to actionYou should use Glasmat 15 tex for the construction of a swimming pool. This is a reinforcement material that is used for the construction of laminates with polyester or vinylester.
Because of its powdery structure, it is suitable for pieces that come into contact with water
Universal quality
Has a 15 Tex fibre structure, which is finer than the structure of the standard glass mat
Due to the finer structure, these mats are more suitable for a finer finish
Always used in combination with a polyester or vinylester resin
For higher strength or layer thickness, apply several layers on top of each other
A polyester pool can lose its shine after a few years. Or even worse, osmosis can occur as a result of the action of UV rays and chemicals. Osmosis shows itself as black dots and little blisters in the final layer. These blisters increase in size with time and weaken the underlying polyester structure. This phenomenon can occur both in the so-called monoblock and in an in-situ polyester pool.
Thanks to our handy step-by-step plan, you can save a lot of money by renovating your pool yourself.
