Reinforced plastic | What is reinforced plastic?
Composite materials or plastics can be reinforced or strengthened in various ways. When a plastic is reinforced with fibres, those fibres give the plastic exceptional mechanical strength. High toughness is the primary mechanical property of the fibres used. The fibres currently used on a large scale are mainly glass fibres, carbon fibres and aramid fibres.
