Impregnation | What is impregnation?
Impregnation means to soak or ‘allow to soak in’. Impregnation refers to the process of saturating a porous solid with a liquid or another finely divided substance, with the aim of imparting certain desirable properties. In the manufacture of glass-fibre-reinforced plastics, for example, fibres are impregnated with a resin.
