Is a high-quality 2-component primer on a polyamide basis. The hardened layer has a very high resistance and is a good barrier against water. The hardened layer does not let water (vapour) pass through. Does not require sanding between coats. Available in 750 ml, 3 lt and 5 lt containers in white and 750 ml, 3 lt and 15 lt containers in grey.

Applications

The product is applied on hard surfaces as a protective layer against water, on polyester as an osmosis prevention and on metal as a protection against rust. Light Primer can also be applied on plywood, hardwood and aluminium. Is a good primer for lacquers and antifouling.

Usage

Depending on the surface and quality, sandblast or sandpaper. The surface must be clean, dry and grease-free. Only use from 10°C. Mix both components in a 5/1 volume ratio and process within 4-6 hours. Dry after 3-4 hours at 20°C. Fully cured after 7 days. When used as primer for antifouling, the first antifouling coat should be applied over the last Light Primer coat while this primer coat is still tacky. (If this time is exceeded, the Light Primer should either be sanded (180 grit) or a new thin coat of primer applied (to avoid sanding). If the product is used as a bonding primer, the first layer should be diluted 30-50% with epoxy thinner. The next layer can be applied undiluted (or dilute to 5-25% for a better flow in case of brush application and 5-50% for gun application). If filler is required, it is recommended to do this after the first diluted Light Primer layer (adhesion primer). Tip: When Light Primer is applied for the 2nd time, you can colour the product with 1 to 2 drops of epoxy pigment (or PU pigment) per litre. This way you can easily check whether you have painted everything. You can also alternate layers of white and grey Light Primer. On polyester boats, Light Primer penetrates the pores well if the first layer is diluted and applied with a short-haired brush (mohair roller), even when subsequently sprayed.

If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. Cleaning agent for tools: thinner for light primer or cleaner M (environmentally friendly substitute for acetone).
